About the Journal

Commentary: Journal of Hadith Studies is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing scholarly research on Hadith and its multifaceted traditions. Published biannually in April and October, the journal provides an international forum for academics, researchers, and intellectuals to disseminate critical and innovative studies in the field of Hadith sciences.

The journal invites original research and analytical papers addressing various dimensions of Hadith studies, including but not limited to:

• Textual and Hermeneutical Studies: Takhrij al-hadith, ma'na al-hadith (textual comprehension), mukhtalif and mushkil al-hadith (reconciliation and contextualization of problematic narrations), and classical/modern methodologies of sharh (Hadith commentary).

• Critical Approaches: Historical-critical analysis, chain of transmission (isnad) evaluation, textual criticism (matn), epistemological frameworks, and contemporary methodology in Hadith scholarship.

• Sociocultural Perspectives: Social phenomena surrounding Hadith practices, digital Hadith studies, local receptions, and the dynamic engagement of Muslim societies with prophetic traditions, widely conceptualized as Living Hadith.
